Recusal for Voting LCME Members
Voting members of the LCME cannot maintain an APQI Premium Membership during their tenure as a member of the LCME.
If an APQI Premium Member or member of the APQI Public Listserv is appointed as a voting member of the LCME, they must contact the APQI Communications Representative and request to be removed from the APQI listserv until their service on the LCME has concluded. The APQI Steering Committee will annually review LCME membership to remove any voting members who also participate on the listserv. Contact Communication Representative Greg Null at grn18@pitt.edu for removal.
If the newly-elected LCME member is a Premium Member in good standing with the APQI at the time of their appointment to the LCME, their paid membership may be transferred to another colleague at their medical school who meets the criteria for APQI membership.
The LCME is represented by ad hoc teams of evaluators who conduct surveys of U.S. medical education programs. Survey team members include educators and practitioners as defined by the LCME. Per the APQI charter, such members are still eligible for membership in the APQI and the listservs. As a reminder, participants should use discretion when disclosing sensitive information.
To join the APQI , please email the APQI Membership Chair Joe Oppedisano at joppedis@umn.edu with your name, email address for subscription, medical school, and title/role within your medical school.
